Annual Sports Day

Annual Sports Day is known to encourage a healthy level of competition and also bonding in teams as they work together to achieve a goal. It is a great time for students to practice supporting each other through both successes and failure.

What’s more, it can be an opportunity for students who are skilled in sports, to really celebrate their achievements, and receive some recognition from their classmates.

Physical exercise is something that is really important for each student. Students should develop healthy habits that will last them through their lives.

Sport develops a sense of friendliness among the children and develops their team spirit. It helps children to develop mental and physical toughness. The school believes that sports is an integral part of education and in Aryan Public School, children are taught various sorts of games and are taught gross motor skills in very early stages to keep their value in life.

It is one of the most loved events of the year, the students very excitedly look forward to it.

Aryan Public School organized Annual Sports Day with grand splendor on 10th Feb 2023. It was a day filled excitement, and we experienced amidst thrills, shrills, and cheers. A plethora of athletic events such as theme based race were conducted. The themes were creatively chosen so that students learn, enjoy and get prepared in advance for the annual sports day event.

The themes for Pre-Primary Nursery class were as follows :

1. Thirsty crow race – students collected pebbles on the track and they had to put them in pots which was placed on the other end and they had to complete the race and come back to original spot as early as possible to win the race.

2. Fox and the grapes race – students dressed as fox had to collect the paper grapes placed on the other end and they had to complete the race and had to come back to original spot as early as possible to win the race

3. Cinderella and Prince Charming race – Boys were dressed up as prince charming and girls as Cinderella. Boys and Girls had to stand opposite to each other and boys had to run first and once they reach other end of the track, then they had to run with the girls dressed as Cinderella and the student who will complete this run in minimum time wins. Its a team effort game.

4. Akbar Birbal race – Students dressed up as Akbar and Birbal. Akbar dressed students had to stand on the starting track and opposite to them Birbal dressed students had to stand on other end of the track. Akbar had to run first to reach other end and after that Akbar and Birbal had to run together in fastest time to win the race. Its a team effort game. As Akbar needs Birbal’s help so they had to run together to win.

The run were designed to help students learn the concepts taught in class and were based on folktales.

The themes for Pre-Primary K.G. class were as follows :

1. Digital run – In digital run students dressed up in online digital mediums creative costumes and displayed digital mediums like facebook, twitter, zoom, google, Youtube icons. Students had to run with logo similar to their costume in their hand and had to place that logo on table placed opposite to the racing track and run back to their original position and had to complete the race as early as possible to win.

2. Techno run – In techno run students dressed up in technology costumes like remote, TV, Mobile, Laptop, Smart watch and they had to collect the banners displaying their technology wrapped up as a prop placed on opposite side of track and had to run back to their original position in shortest time to win.

3. Money Money run – In Money Money run, students dressed up as Paytm, cash, debit card, credit card, Google pay and adjecent to them on table was displayed bank and ATM machine and students had to cross that bank and atm machine and complete whole run and had to come back near the table to complete the race.

4. Run for the nation – In Run for the nation, students were dressed up in our helpers of nation themed dress code eg. doctor, chef, pilot, army, police and they had to complete the whole run in minimum time to win the race.

The themes for Primary i.e. 1st to 4th class were as follows :

1. Hoopla Race – In Hoopla race, students had to run holding hoopla ring above their head and had to run to the other side of track where balls were placed and they had to take balls with them to the other side without touching directly but with the help of Hoopla ring. The student who completed it in minimum time wins the race.

2. Pyramid Race – In Pyramid race, students had to collect the 3 pyramids kept on the racing track and had to create a pyramid using the 3 pyramids on the opposite side of starting track and had to run and come back in shortest time to win.

3. Bag Pack Race – In Bag pack race, students had to collect their water bottle, pencil box and lunch box placed on the running track and had to pack those in their bag and had to run carrying that bag on their back in minimum amount of time to win.

4. Shopping Race – In Shopping race, students had to shop for the amount written on chit and items were kept on other side of the track with prices mentioned and students had to come back in the fastest time as possible to win.

5. Backward Race – In backward race, students had to run backwards and having face opposite to the track. The student who will reach the other side of the track in minimum time wins.

6. Hopping with Hoopla Race – In hopping with Hoopla race, students had to hopp holding the hoopla in their hand above their head and move forward in fastest time.

7. Ball Balancing Race – In ball balancing race, students had to balance ball on ball holding ring and move forward balancing the ball and without dropping the ball till the end of track in fastest time.

8. Book Balancing Race – In book balancing race, students had to balance book on their head without dropping it and reach the other end of track in minimum time.

The themes for Middle classes i.e. 5th to 8th class were as follows :

1. Sack Race – Students had to place both of their legs inside a sack that reaches their waist and hop forward from the starting point toward the finish line in minimum possible time. The first person to cross the finish line is the winner of the race.

2. Skipping Race – In Skipping rope race or jump rope race students had to start with the rope behind their feet and swing the jump rope upward over their head and jump over skipping rope till the end of the track. The first person to cross the finish line is the winner of the race.

3. Hockey Race – In Hockey race students had to move the ball forward using the hockey sticks and the student who did it in minimum amount of time wins the race.

4. Lemon Spoon Race – In Lemon spoon race, students had to balance lemon on spoon keeping spoon in their mouth. With that, they had to walk towards the finishing line. The student who reaches finishing line first wins the race.

The Annual Sports Meet embodied the zeal, talents, and the spirit of true sportsmanship of the students encouraging them to be persistent and to refine their talents, achieving the greatest of the heights.

It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and memories to cherish. The Annual event of Sports Day was a huge success and appreciated by all. Here is a video glimpse of the Annual Sports Day of Aryan Public School.

Aryan Public School emerged on 21st February 2000. The foundation stone was laid by Shri B.M Goel (chairperson). It is a co-educational institution run by Sanjeevani Siksha Samiti a non-profit organization registered under the Societies Act-1861.
